this highly textured, original mixed media portrait painting on canvas is titled OUR LADY OF THE WATERS. it is part of my large sized modern saints series. the piece is delicately built with layers of antique book pages, tea filters, vintage sewing patterns, acrylic paint, and coffee stains.

pearls of various sizes are sewn into the canvas dripping with loose threads. a mysterious scar adorns her side, or is it scales? her brow, crowned with sea foam and found sea shells.
