she dropped her robes in the wheat fields II
she dropped her robes in the wheat fields II
have you ever seen the goddess running through fields of wheat?
when i was a little girl, i saw the robes she left behind at sunrise. crimson red. rippling across the fields.
i would wake up with the sun in the back seat of our car, hundreds of miles from home, to garth brooks on tapes recoded from the radio, my father’s steady driving, and the poppy fields.
always the poppy fields.
like magic, i would always wake up just as we drove through the red waves in search of adventure.
this love affair with freedom goes way back to those early days driving the summers away through the romanian countryside and into the mountains.
at least half of the hot romance that flows through my veins is velvety red blossoms.
