Good To Be Alive

Good To Be Alive

sometimes mistakes end up being the most beautiful part of the story.

that white rectangle was first an envelope that i haphazardly used for taking notes. then got soaked when my two year old was serving me pretend tea.

the paper turned out more beautiful than i could ever conjure up.

GOOD TO BE ALIVE is an original mixed media painting collage i created as a part of a recent daily art practice i’ve been exploring. i built it using layers of antique book pages, ink-stained papers, gold foil, and paint on a canvas wrapped board.

the piece features these fragments of found poetry:

“i am alive!
it is rather
good to be alive.”

size: 9"x 12"

medium: acrylic, book pages, gold foil, ink, canvas wrapped board

palette: black, white, amber, beige, gray, gold

inspiration: found objects, wise words, happy accidents

i ship the piece in a protective plastic sleeve and it can be displayed as is on a shelf or fireplace mantle. it would look great framed as well.

initialed on the front. signed, titled and dated on the reverse.

the piece will be packaged with care and shipped securely via USPS. i ship 24-48 hours from purchase during business days. you will receive a tracking number.

thank you for taking an interest in my art! i will happily answer any questions and requests for custom work.
